Interface: surface à la frontière entre deux parties de matière ou d’espace.
Cette définition toute simple résume à elle seule toute la complexité du travail qui anime Pierre Daquin depuis plus de 50 ans. Un dialogue méditatif avec la matière, subtil équilibre entre une grande rigueur de travail et la liberté laissée à l'expression du matériau.
Cette oeuvre est réalisée sur du papier kraft bitumé, renforcé de fils de nylon et d'aluminium. L'artiste chauffe, dédouble et effile le papier, révélant la matière, la structure et leurs empreintes.

Interface: A surface forming a common boundary between two portions of matter or space. This definition alone embodies the complexity of the work that has been driving Pierre Daquin for more than 50 years. A meditative dialogue with the material, subtle balance between a rigorous work and the freedom left for the material to express itself.

This work is made on kraft paper containing asphalt, aluminium, and nylon threads. The artist heats up, splits and strings the paper. Thus revealing the material, the structure and their imprints.
