Née en 1976 à Metz, Florence Obrecht est diplômée de l ENSBA en 2001 et a étudié à New York, Berlin et Sofia. Elle vit et travaille à Berlin. 
« Sa maîtrise technique du médium pictural lui permet d’atteindre un réalisme aussi frappant que singulier. À la manière des artistes peintres classiques, elle compose ses décors et met en scène ses modèles. À travers ce procédé de création, elle nous transmet un héritage, celui des anciens. L’artiste baigne également ses œuvres dans une profusion de références iconographiques, à l’histoire de l’art mais aussi à la culture populaire et religieuse. Elle manie avec brio l’art du déplacement d’images, éveillant alors chez le regardeur de multiples réminiscences. »
