Helena Guy Lhomme est une plasticienne française au parcours atypique: passée par HEC et l’école du Louvre, elle travaille dix ans dans les musées. La découverte de la laine - après le bronze et la céramique - est une révélation pour l’artiste, qui déploie un univers unique, gourmand, parfois trash, en volume.
Ses sculptures textile en laine cardée explorent les formes du vivant - nourriture, anatomie, cabinet de curiosité. Elle collabore notamment avec le Mobilier National ou le Musée de Montecarlo, livrant d’impressionnantes sculptures de textile, du plus petit objet au plus monumental.
Pour l’exposition, Helena Guy Lhomme proposera deux compositions sur des rotondos, pensées comme les restes d’un buffet éclaté, ainsi qu’une série de visages en relief pris en étau.
Helena Guy Lhomme is a French visual artist with an atypical background: after graduating from HEC and the Ecole du Louvre, she spent ten years working in museums. The discovery of wool - after bronze and ceramics - was a revelation for the artist, who now unfolds a unique, gourmand, sometimes trashy universe in volume.
Her textile sculptures in carded wool explore the forms of the living - food, anatomy, curiosity cabinets. She collaborates notably with the Mobilier National and the Montecarlo Museum, delivering impressive textile sculptures, from the smallest object to the most monumental.
For the exhibition, Helena Guy Lhomme will propose two compositions on rotondos, thought to be the remains of a shattered buffet, as well as a series of faces in relief caught in a vice.
